Thanks for the tips. I've been working on it, and it now looks quite a bit more detailed, but still has a long way to go.

oh yeah lol..once you get the normal out of crazy bump..in photoshop overlay it on the normal you got out of zbrush and there you go..a normal from zbrush with extra normal detail from the texture..theres also a way to do all of that straight in zbrush but thats a looooonnnnngggg story lol
:iconcharliedeft:
ahh okay coolio. sounds similar to what i do with the nvidia filter. have you tried the nvidia normal map filter? also, do you have experience with xnormals? i heard good things about them all, but i'm only farmiliar with the nvidia filter.
:iconkdizz420:
If nvidia filter is the one in photoshop to make normal maps its totally crap compared to crazybump or zbrush..but then again i dont really know how to use it...i use xnormals to gt my normal map out of zbrush, for xnormal you load in your high and then your low and mess with the settings to generate out certain maps..i just started using it so im not an expert but i know the basics..
:iconkdizz420:
You asked about how to use crazybump...load in your diffuse and you can get a normal map based off your texture..it gives you alittle bit more detail plus you can play with the dials to get the normal you want..
